Most tools use the OpenAI-compatible URL. Claude Code uses the Anthropic-compatible URL. Codex CLI uses the OpenAI-compatible URL with its Responses wire protocol.

Start small
Send a short text request first. Then add streaming, tool calls, structured outputs or images as your workflow needs them. For images, pick a model that accepts image input.
